Berry Shops ("the App") is a personal wallet for gift cards, coupons, and receipts, published by Berry Shops LLC ("we," "us"). This policy explains what the App handles, where that information lives, and the choices you have. The short version: the App is built so your information stays on your device and in your own private iCloud — we do not run a server that collects it.
Because there is no sign-in, the App never receives personal identifiers like your name or email. It does work with the content you choose to add:
This information is stored locally on your device. If you have iCloud enabled, it also syncs through your own private iCloud account (Apple's CloudKit and iCloud Key-Value storage) so your cards survive a reinstall or move to a new device. This data lives in your personal iCloud container tied to your Apple Account — we have no access to it and cannot read it.
When you scan a card, barcode, QR code, or receipt, the App uses your camera and on-device text recognition to read the information. Image processing happens on your device; scans are not uploaded to us.
If you enable it, the App uses your location to power the "Nearby" feature — surfacing cards for stores close to you — and may check your location in the background to keep that list current. Your location is used on the device to sort and match your own cards. It is not transmitted to us or sold. You can turn location access off at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services.
The App does not send your personal card data anywhere. It does make a few network requests that do not include your personal information:
Card numbers and PINs are sensitive, and the App is designed to keep them close to you: stored on your device and, when you enable iCloud, protected by Apple's iCloud security within your own account. No method of storage is perfectly secure, but because we don't collect this data on a server of our own, there is no central database of your cards for anyone to breach. Keep your device passcode and Apple Account secure, as those protect your data.
The App is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Because we don't hold your personal data on our own servers, there is little for us to retrieve or delete on your behalf — but if you're a resident of California or another region with privacy rights (such as the CCPA/CPRA), you may still contact us with any request and we will respond as required by law.
If we make material changes, we'll update the date at the top and, where appropriate, note it in the App. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised policy.
